Let’s Not Put Wasp Nests In Our Vaginas

In the history of beauty trends, there have been plenty of fads that are ridiculous, and sometimes, dangerous. People put lead makeup to whiten their faces, which caused people’s skin and teeth to rot. “Arsenic complexion wafers” were a thing. Women used to douche with Lysol. And now, people are apparently buying ground-up wasps nests on Etsy and shoving it up their vaginas.

According to the New York Daily News, people are buying oak gall, which is a “calcification that forms when gall wasps lay larvae in oak trees,” and using the ground gall and other herbs as a vaginal wash to “tighten” vaginal walls and get rid of odor. We found a couple products searching Etsy for “oak gall vagina” (normal Friday morning activities).

Drink red wine/don’t drink red wine. Sleep 6, 8, 10 hours. Now, don’t tuck a wasp’s nest up yourself. FOR PITY’S SAKE, MAKE UP YOUR MINDS. https://t.co/xvUI9lhiPC

This is a bad idea. Don’t put things you buy on Etsy up your vagina. Don’t put most things up your vagina without at least consulting a doctor. I am not a medical professional but I feel pretty confident saying that.

Then again, the planet is dying. Go nuts.
